The artist Kim Jongku’s works with sculpture, video, painting and photography. He utilizes steel powder, created by the grinding of steel rods, to write calligraphy on the floor. This calligraphy is captured from a horizontal viewpoint by a CC camera affixed to the floor. The image of this horizontal view is projected onto the wall resulting in an image of infinite landscape. His works attempt to bring the vertical systems of our modern and materialistic culture back to a horizontal stasis.
He is currently working and living in Seoul, Korea.
